Angry Birds Seasons expands its flock with a new fowl

Game maker Rovio is adding yet another new bird to its Angry Birds Seasons lineup. This one is pink -- and blows bubbles.

Angry Birds Seasons will introduce a new character -- a pink bird that blows dangerous bubbles at evil green pigs.

Known simply but appropriately as Pink Bird, the latest angry bird seems cuter than her existing teammates, batting blue eyes and sporting long lashes. But as displayed in the video below, she seems quite deserving of the term "angry" as she blows her deadly bubbles at her piggy opponents.

Gamer maker Rovio has been promoting Pink Bird as the latest icon on its Angry Birds Seasons Twitter feed. But so far the company's been mum as to when she'll debut or what surprises she may offer.

Rovio last updated Angry Birds Seasons in late June with a minor bug fix. The company recently unveiled Amazing Alex, a new addition to its lineup. But it continues to rely on Angry Birds as its bread and butter, with new games, updates, TV shows, merchandise, and other items to cash in on the franchise.

A new episode known as as Utopia has been added to Angry Birds Space, promising even more challenges.

Those Angry Birds in space are still making me angry, only now they've added a new episode to thwart me even further.

The latest update to Angry Birds Space for iOS launches a new episode into orbit, this one dubbed Utopia. Unfortunately, I haven't progressed past the initial Pig Pang, so Utopia and all the episodes leading up to it remain locked to me. (Anyone know a good unlock code?)

But Rovio describes Utopia as a delicious food planet with 10 new levels complete with popcorn, cookies, and candy apples to tempt the hungry pigs. Players can "bounce birds off jelly trampolines" and "pop corn to create delicious mayhem."

The latest update is free to Angry Birds Space users. It's also available only for iOS devices - the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. But Rovio promises that Utopia will lift off soon for Android and other platforms.
